Some Park Amenities to Open Soon!

Date posted: 5/22/2020

Some amenities in the parks will reopen soon!

After careful consideration for the safety of the community, the Block House MUD Board of Directors reviewed and provisionally approved a comprehensive parks and pool reopening plan during a specialmeeting on May 13, 2020. This plan is contingent upon Board approval at the Board of Directors meeting on May 27.

Some amenities will remain closed and unavailable for use at this time, in compliance with Governor
Abbott’s orders as well as CDC recommendations. Please note that this is an ever-evolving situation, and
the information below is subject to change at any time.

The MUD Board encourages anyone visiting District parks and pools to follow CDC guidelines for the
protection of yourself and others.

Which Amenities Will Be Opening Soon?

  • Sand volleyball court will be open for use by no more than two (2) persons at any time (one person on either side of the net).
  • Pavilion will be available to use by no more than four (4) persons at any time.

Which Amenities Will Remain Closed at This Time?

The following amenities will not yet be available for public use:
  • Playscapes will remain closed.
  • Public restrooms at the park will remain closed.
  • Jumano Community Center will remain closed and unavailable for reservations or use at this
  • time.
  • Water fountains will remain off and unavailable for use.
  • Athletic practice fields will remain closed and unavailable for reservations or use at this time.
  • Walker House will remain closed and unavailable for reservations or use at this time.
  • The Bike Trail remains under renovation.

Once again, this District pool and amenity reopening plan is contingent upon further review and final
approval at the MUD Board of Directors meeting on May 27, 2020. As conditions continue to evolve and
further health and safety guidelines are released, this information is subject to change at any time. The
MUD will continue to update residents on any changes to the reopening plans for District amenities via
the website, emails, and on the Block House MUD Facebook page. Additional information will be
provided regarding pool and park rule changes once they are approved by the Board.

Thank you for your patience as the Block House MUD Board of Directors is working to safely reopen
District amenities.
